regretting the rainThe raindrops hit my windowsill, I smiled and stared outside And watched as buckets began to fill And critters ran to hide.regretting the rain
Its falling seemed so infinite, Colliding with the ground. Its beauty pulled me into it With a memorizing sound.
As I stepped into its presence,
Its kindness turned to hate.
The wetness that seemed pleasant Condemned me to my fate.
Never will I forget that day of my most tragic pain,
That awful day I drowned in the cutting, glass-like rain
